A long time ago I chose GoDaddy as my DNS and hosting service. And then things just sat around for some time.
Once I started blogging, I started getting asked: why don’t you have https
on your website? The answer is that GoDaddy also runs a CA and they charge for a certificate and I don’t want to spend more money.
Once I am less busy (IETF NomCom, “After OpenSSL” take my time right now), I’ll move. Probably to Linode (a recent Akamai acquisition) and then figure out how to install all that infrastructure that right now is just point/click/install.
